I did get some of the production information from the TALO site.
It looks like Bud's is 'out of stock' as I saw today
I have taken the little guy out to the range twice now and it is perfect out of the box in terms of reliability and accuracy. It is every bit as accurate as my Colt Gov't, even with its 2' shorter barrel, all the way out to 20 yards. However, there is a problem with it as it tends to slam hot brass into my forehead, drawing blood at that. After that discovery on the first range trip, I took it to Briley Manufacturing to have my gunsmith examine it. He did some angular adjustment to the extractor to see where that puts it. The second range trip revealed the same problem, although not as frequent. Looking at it again, we determined that it has to be a weak recoil spring, causing a timing issue with the slide hitting the partially ejected shell, kicking it straight back into my face. Now, so far, I haven't found anyone who has the springs available. Colt refers their parts sales to Brownells & Midway, but they have none available. Same with Wilson Combat. Guess I'll just keep checking, or just get on a back-order list for them and shoot the Sig Ultra in the meantime.

NEW AGENT, and DEFENDER models, including the TALO NIGHT. The range of serial numbers of these models covered by the recall is as.
Hello 1911 people. Happy New Year to y'all. I bought a Colt Talo Night Defender, model# 07000NDF, Serial# NDF20XX. I can't seem to find any real facts about the production of this particular series of Colt. Talo addresses the 1st 400 were put in Colt's Custom box, then the next 400 in traditional Colt's cases. Another source says there were only 1600 of them made stating the first 800 were built in the Colt's Custom Shop.
I purchased this pistol to carry routinely and daily. Since I couldn't find much information about this little guy, I bought another 3' (3.3') 1911, a Sig Sauer Ultra Two-Tone to carry just in case the Talo NDF is really as rare as some sites say it is.So, bottom line here is: DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REAL TRUTH ABOUT THE LIFE AND PRODUCTION OF THIS FINE LITTLE COLT??? A couple months ago I saw a used one in a gun store for $700. It looked in good shape and I sort of waffled on it. I remember it was next to one of the Defender Supers (?) that was $790.
I think that is what they called the Defender that was only made for about a year when the Defender was introduced that had the short slide and full length grip.So I would agree they are not real common but are not real collectible either. It was called the Defender Plus. They are cool and I like the feel of them.If you own a commander and a defender you can make one.
